WASHINGTON (Sinclair Broadcast Group) — “Several weeks ago the notion that we would be on the verge of actually using the hammer of impeachment to remove the president…was unthinkable. Now we’re only one day from possibly passing a resolution to remove a duly elected president from office.”
With the House of Representatives preparing a Wednesday impeachment vote, that statement could have been uttered by a Republican defender of President Donald Trump. But it wasn’t. Then-Democratic Rep. Chuck Schumer of New York made those comments as he sat on the House Judiciary Committee opposing the GOP-led impeachment of President Bill Clinton. …
